Work on the silage clamp doesn’t stop when it gets dark. In the early morning, late evening or during dark winter days, it can be difficult to see exactly where your covering hoses are. With the new glow in the dark covering hoses from Agridek, that’s no longer an issue. The hoses charge during the day using daylight and emit a glow when it gets dark. That way you can see immediately where they are and how the cover sheet runs.

Covering hoses keep the silage sheet tight in place and ensure the clamp is sealed airtight. Thanks to the light-emitting version, you can position the hoses more easily at dusk or in the dark. That makes the job easier and reduces the risk of driving over them with machinery.

So you can simply keep working as the light fades, with the solid quality you expect from Agridek.

How the glow technology works

The glow in the dark covering hoses are made from a special material that stores light and gradually releases it again in the dark. During the day, the hoses charge using sunlight or artificial light.

Once it gets dark, a subtle line of light appears that makes the position of the hoses and the edges of the silage sheet visible.

During development, intensive use on the farm yard was taken into account. The light-emitting application is integrated into the material itself, making it resistant to moisture, temperature fluctuations and pressure from tyres or machinery. This keeps visibility intact without compromising on strength or lifespan.

Agridek is not yet sharing all technical details. A patent application for this innovation is currently in progress.
